How a first session works

  1. 1

    We talk

A call or a message about what you want, what hurts, and anything a doctor has told you.

  2. 2

You fill in a short form

The PAR-Q, a standard pre-exercise questionnaire. It tells me what to take care with.

  3. 3

    We train

First session is gentle on purpose. I watch how you move, you see how I work, and we go from there.

Questions people ask

Do I need to be fit already?

No. Most of my clients start from a standing start, often after time off for illness or injury. We begin where you are.

Can you train me if I have a heart condition or have had a stroke?

Yes. I hold Level 4 specialist qualifications in cardiac rehabilitation and in exercise for long-term neurological conditions, and I instruct on Hackney Council's Fit 4 Health exercise-after-stroke scheme.

Do I need my GP's permission?

If you have a medical condition, I'll ask you to check with your GP first, and I may ask for a referral letter. The pre-exercise questionnaire covers this.

What should I bring to an outdoor session?

Comfortable clothes, trainers, water and a layer for the weather. I bring the kit.

Can you come to my home?

Yes, across [Hackney and nearby postcodes]. Home visits are priced at the top of the range to cover travel.

How do I pay?

[Bank transfer or cash] after each session, or in blocks if you prefer. No contracts.

Not sure which is right?

Tell me what’s going on and I’ll suggest where to start.
